For far too long, proprietary technology silos have gotten in the way of cable operators, making it difficult, if not impossible, for them to deploy new services quickly or even modify their existing services quickly. This has been especially true for larger MSOs that have made multiple acquisitions because of the challenge of integrating many different and sometimes incompatible operations and billing systems.
