What we do
SCTE is a professional association for the advancement of technology, standards and workforce education related to cable telecommunications engineering. Founded in 1969 as The Society of Cable Television Engineers, SCTE has a current membership of more than 19,000 individuals.

Initiatives
In early 2012 SCTE began its launch of the SCTE Diversity & Inclusion Initiative through the creation of several programs supporting its Inclusion Philosophy. Multichannel News worked with SCTE Senior Vice President of Operations, Cathy Oakes, in posting an article that highlights key areas of focus for SCTE Diversity & Inclusion in the year ahead.
