Comcast’s Elad Nafshi is Elected SCTE Board Chair

SCTE is pleased to announce that Elad Nafshi, executive vice president and chief network officer of Comcast Connectivity and Platforms, has been elected to serve as Chair of the SCTE Board of Directors, starting March 1, 2025.

We’d like to thank Andy Parrott for his service as the Board’s Interim Chair and are thrilled to welcome Elad to lead the Board as SCTE embarks on a new chapter to serve the evolving broadband industry.

Elad brings to this role decades of dedication and countless contributions to the industry. He currently serves as Comcast Connectivity and Platform’s Chief Network Officer, overseeing the operation, expansion and continuous evolution of nation’s largest broadband network. He is renowned as a global thought leader in next-generation connectivity technology and has been instrumental to Comcast’s industry-leading work in the deployment of DOCSIS 4.0, achieving a number of world-first technology milestones along the way.

In his 20 years at Comcast, Elad has held several network, product development and management roles and led a number of high-profile initiatives around Next Generation Access Network, Cloud TV, Cloud DVR Interactive Television, Addressable Advertising, Digital Set-Top-Boxes, On-Screen Guides and other key programs. Under his leadership, the Comcast network team has been awarded a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award in recognition for the impact of their work on technology innovation.

In his role as SCTE Board Chair, Elad will lead the Board in providing strategic oversight and governance, ensuring alignment with SCTE’s long-term vision. He will preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee and the Board. He will serve as the key point of communication across CableLabs, the Board and associate members in order to advance the goals and priorities that will drive the long-term vision,  prosperity and welfare of SCTE.

Elections for three at-large and three vendor members are also currently underway with new board members to be confirmed in May. Each board director must be a senior executive of a CableLabs or SCTE associate member with day-to-day executive responsibility in engineering, technical operations, or field operations.
